How to dilute an alginate mask

1. Take 30 g of powder and dilute in 90 ml of cold water (temperature 20-22°C).
2. Stir the mask until it reaches the consistency of thick sour cream.
3. Using a spatula, quickly apply the mask to your face in a 2-3 mm thick layer (including lips and eyelids).
4. After 30 minutes, remove the mask in one layer with a movement from the bottom of the chin up to the forehead, having previously moistened the dried edges with water.

To dilute the mask, use only plastic, glass or silicone utensils, avoid metal objects. The optimal volume of the bowl for mixing the mask is 400 ml. To apply the alginate mask, give preference to a plastic spatula with a blunt end. With its help you can apply the mask in a thick even layer and easily model it. Brushes are not suitable for applying the alginate mask!

Contraindications for applying an alginate mask

An alginate mask is a fairly universal product, but there are cases when we still do not recommend using it:

• Extended eyelashes. The alginate mask tightly envelops all the villi that are in the application area, so the extended eyelashes can be damaged.
• Fear of confined spaces and darkness. Care procedures are aimed at relaxation and relaxation, so if you are uncomfortable being with your face completely covered by a mask for 30 minutes, tell your cosmetologist about it.
• Sensitive skin in the preorbital zone. To avoid redness in the area around the eyes with an individual reaction to masks with components such as badyaga, celandine, horsetail, succession, apply the mask only to the face, avoiding the eye area. Or you can put cotton pads soaked in a suitable toner on your eyes and apply the mask on top of them, covering your entire face.

Mistakes in applying an alginate mask

To get the maximum effect from the procedure, you need to follow the rules for using the cosmetic product and avoid the main mistakes.

Too thin a layer. To achieve a lifting effect and smoothing out wrinkles, you need to apply the mask in a thick layer. In addition, it is very difficult to tear off a mask applied in a thin layer in one motion, because it will simply stick to your face, which will be uncomfortable for you.

Too much water. Stick to the proportions specified in the instructions. If you overdo it with water, the mask will simply flow off your face.

Alginate mask with lumps. If you do not mix the powder with water well enough, lumps may form. Therefore, it is important to stir the mixture quickly and thoroughly to get the consistency of thick sour cream. Add water to the powder, not the other way around. Stir vigorously for 40-60 seconds and immediately apply to the skin.
